Class Policy
Before signing up for class, please check your schedule and read our class policy carefully. To be fair to our teachers and other students we must remain firm on our registration and cancellation policies.
- Please note, full payment of the fee is required at the time of registration. This ensures your seat is reserved and helps us maintain a smooth registration process.
- If you need to cancel, please do so at least 7 days before the class. In such cases, you will be issued store credit, provided your cancellation does not reduce the class participation below the minimum requirement. This policy is in place to ensure a balanced learning environment for all participants.
- Heyde Sewing and our teachers reserve the right to cancel 7 Days prior to any class if the participation level is below the minimum.
- Minimum number of students is usually three students but may vary by teacher and store location.
- We will issue a full refund for any class we cancel.
- You are not registered until the class is paid in full.
Supply Fee/Reservation Fee
All supplies must be purchased at Heyde Sewing Machine. At the time of registration, you will receive 20% off your class supplies.

Classroom Etiquette
Welcome to our classroom! We’re delighted you are here and want to ensure your class experience is fun, creative, and successful.
[1] Shop Talk: We recognize you have many options for where to shop for your quilting supplies, and we thank you for shopping with us.
- Please refrain from talking about all those other places while you are in our shop and the classroom. It’s hard on our feelings and ability to stay in business.
[2] Alternate Techniques: There are many ways to do the same task. Our instructors will teach one specific way during the class to make it easier for the entire class to follow along.
- Please refrain from sharing those alternate techniques with your neighbors – it can confuse them.
[3] Be Prepared: Come to class on time – with all your required supplies ready. Your fabric, cutting tools, and sewing machine, if needed, should be ready to use when you arrive.
- If the instructor asks you to pre-cut or prep anything before class, please do that before you arrive so you don't slow down the class.
[4] Conversations During Class: Classes are an excellent time to socialize and make new friends. However, everyone has also come to the classroom to learn from the teacher.
- Please limit socializing to times when the teacher is not demonstrating a technique or sharing content.
[5] Phone Calls: Our cell phones are lovely design tools. They are also very useful for taking and sharing pictures of our progress. However, taking calls during class distracts your classmates and the instructor.
- Please step outside the classroom if you need to make or receive any critical calls.
Thank you for your business, Heyde Sewing Staff & Teachers
