Intermediate Sewist with bag-making experience, Sewing Machine Quilted Cover, with slip and zipper pockets on front and back, slip pocket, side zipper pocket, and
mesh pockets. Easy access to the hand with opening top flaps with magnetic snap covers
the opening. Three Sizes fit many popular machines. 1 st class will be measuring the
machine and reviewing the pattern, with homework assigned for the next class.
Week 1:
Getting Started
Class will be no sewing, you will bring your machine, and we will measure the machine to
determine the size and adjust the pattern for the size of the machine, and review cutting
instructions.
Reading the patterns (purchased before the class), the needed fabric, thread, and stabilizer
(Soft and Stable), interfacing, mesh, fold-over elastic, zippers, and machine feet
(Walking foot, ¼ foot and edge stitch foot, scissors and thread snips, Chalk markers,
mechanical pencil. Thread. We will then shop for the items needed for constructing the
Cover. Homework will be assigned.
Week 2:
Construction
Homework must be completed prior to the class; we will then construct the cover step by
step.
Supplies needed for class: Pre-cut and quilted Fabric (labeled), pre-cut, pieced bias
and straight binding, Pre-wound bobbins, Thread, Rotary cutter, scissors, thread
snips, clips, markers, hand sewing needles, quilters' rulers (recommended 6” X 24 “ and
12 ½ “ Square.
Participants should bring their own machine.
Fabric, Soft and Stable, fusible interfacing (SF 101) or Callie Dell, Zipper (handbag zipper
with slide), mesh, vinyl, fold over elastic, thread, Rotary cutter, scissors, thread snips,
clips, markers, hand sewing needles, quilters rulers (recommended 6” X 24 “ and 12 ½ “
Square.
