Workshop that introduces participants to the art of foundation paper piecing- Woven Star

Join us for an engaging and educational workshop that introduces participants to the art of foundation paper piecing. This technique is an excellent choice for beginners and those looking to refine their quilting skills. During this session, attendees will learn the foundational principles of paper piecing, which involves sewing fabric pieces onto a paper pattern to create precise and intricate designs.

The class is structured to be both fun and informative, ensuring that participants gain confidence in their abilities. We will start by guiding you through the process of making 3 to 4 sample blocks. These initial projects will serve as practical exercises, helping you understand the steps involved and the nuances of fabric placement, seam accuracy, and paper removal.

Once you are comfortable with the basics, you will have the opportunity to create additional blocks to complete a project of your choice. The pattern provided in the class allows for up to 21 blocks, giving you ample scope to design a quilt, wall hanging, or other fabric art piece. This flexibility enables you to personalise your project and explore your creativity.

Participants will leave the class equipped with finished blocks and a set of resources, including tips, techniques, and references, to continue practising and developing their skills at home. Whether you are a complete novice or have some quilting experience, this workshop offers a supportive environment to learn a new craft and start your foundation paper piecing journey.
