Master the art of quilted Jacket construction your way!
You will have the option of bringing a sweatshirt to use as the foundation for the quilted jacket, OR use the Laura Jacket pattern (BUY THE PATTERN AHEAD OF TIME AND BRING IT TO CLASS Cost of pattern $16
This pattern is multi-sized, XS (Bust 32.5”, Waist 25.5”, Hips 35.5”) to XXL (Bust 43.25”, Waist 36.25”, Hips 44.5”). If you choose to use the pattern, you will need foundation fabric. The sample on display used fleece as the foundation. A stable knit fabric can also be used. Fleece should not have a nap (no Cuddle). “Stable” knit has minimal stretch. Think about the weight and amount of stretch in a purchased sweatshirt. These fabrics are generally 60” wide, 1½- 2 yds of fabric should be sufficient for all sizes.
If you choose a sweatshirt for your foundation, it should be plain, no logo, no hood, no pockets, no zipper. A simple crewneck shirt. Raglan or set-in sleeves both work. You do not need to pre-wash the shirt.
In this 2 part class, participants will design and construct a foundation pieced, quilted jacket.
A variety of design options will be presented and discussed. Each participant’s jacket will be unique. Techniques learned in this class can be applied to many other projects. Hope you can join us!!!Note: Supplies to bring:
