Intro to your new Sewing Machine
Join our instructor and learn basic machine operations for your new sewing machine. We will discuss the following topics in this class:
- All about needles and threads
- Winding a bobbin, threading your machine, and basic machine maintenance.
- Basic sewing functions and operation buttons of your machine
- Accessing the setting functions of your machine (not all machines have this function)
- Identifying some of the feet that come with your machine
- Making adjustments to stitch with, length and tension
- Using the buttonhole and button foo
- Settings functions
- Using Decorative and Character stitches
- Using the Sensor Pen and Guide Beams (not available on all machines)
Supplies you need for class:
- Your Machine with ALL feet and accessories, power supply and foot pedal.
- Button Hole Foot
- Fabric: have several pieces of cotton fabric available to test a few stitches and practice decorative stiches. Solid colors let you see your stitches best.
- 1" button or smaller to test your buttonhole foot.
- Empty bobbin
- Sewing Thread
